Veteran of museum affairs N.I. Terentieva became honorary freeman of Kirillov

Nadezhda Ivanovna Terentieva was born in the Dyakonovskaya village of the Slobodsky rural council in the Kirillov district of the Vologda region on September 18, 1935.

Her work and public activity was inseparably connected with preservation and augmentation of cultural and historical heritage of the Kirillov district. It is impossible to imagine the history of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve without her.

Nadezhda Terentieva worked as a director of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve during 20 years. The museum achieved considerable success in exhibition, collecting and storage work, participated in republican and All-Union exhibitions many times within this period.

In 1982, the museum-reserve was awarded the 2nd degree diploma of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR, the Central Committee of the trade union of cultural workers for high achievements in the All-Union Review of Museum Scientific and Storage Work. Thanks to the incredible performance and wonderful managerial abilities of N.I. Terentieva, the provincial cultural institution became famous all over Russia.

In 1970, N.I. Terentieva was awarded the medal “For Valorous Labour. In Commemoration of Centenary of V.I. Lenin’s Birth” for her large contribution to the development of cultural life. In 1974, she was given the title of the Honoured Art Worker of the RSFSR. In 1984, when the museum celebrated the 60th anniversary of its foundation, N.I. Terentieva was awarded the badge “For Excellent Work” of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR.
