Employees of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve participated in the interregional exhibition.
Vologda hosted the 16th Interregional Exhibition of Tourist Service and Hospitality Technologies “Gates to the North” in the middle of April. Representatives of eight regions of the Russian Federation, including guests from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Komi Republic, the Republic of Karelia, the Archangelsk and the Yaroslavl regions, and the Republic of Crimea, participated in the event.
Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov noted at the opening ceremony, “The beautiful city of Vologda receives guests of the Interregional Exhibition of Tourist Service and Hospitality Technologies “Gates to the North” for the 16th time. Every year we open new projects. In 2013, we launched the project “Vologda Region –The Soul of Russian North” that became famous not only in our country, but far outside it. In 2015, we started to implement a unique interregional project titled “Silver Necklace of Russia”. We did it here, in Vologda. And now it is popular in all regions of the Northwestern Federal District. The number of guests visiting Vologda increases every year. An absolute record was set up last year: 2 million 800 thousand tourists came to the Vologda region. We placed in eighth among all regions of Russia according to the tourist flow index in the opinion of the Ministry of Culture of the RF”.
The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve was property presented at the exhibition promoting strengthening and expansion of contacts in the field of tourism, exchange of experience and development of joint tourist projects. Hundreds of participants saw films about the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes and the museum complex “Tsypino” demonstrated at the event. Visitors asked how they could get to Kirillov, were interested in tours and exhibitions, bought books about the unique collections of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve. N.V. Zovutina, E.A. Serova, L.N. Akimova, T.V. Usova, specialists of the Department of Visitor Relations in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, amiably answered all questions of the guests.
At the exhibition that was held during two days, the employees of the Development Department and the Department of Visitor Relations participated in the round table discussion “Religious and Educational and Pilgrimage Tourism”, the seminar “Making of Integrated Tourist Information Space in the Region”, the master-class “How We Can Make Museum Exhibition Interesting for Different People”, the workshop on the development of children’s tourism based on the implementation of the pilot project of educational tourism “Live Lessons” and the interregional children’s cultural and educational project “Ornamental Patterns of Russian Cities”. T.V. Trubnikova, guide of the Department of Visitor Relations in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, delivered the master-class in chainmail making for participants of the 16th Interregional Exhibition of Tourist Service and Hospitality Technologies “Gates to the North”.
This event has been supported by the Ministry of Culture of the RF, the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, and the Northwestern Regional Branch of the Russian Tourism Industry Union within 15 years. It is widely recognized as one of the best and popular regional exhibitions at the beginning of the summer season. Over 220 exponents have been presented on the grounds of the exhibition centre “Russky Dom” this year. The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve – one of the largest tourist centres of not only the region, but also the country – was among them!
