Employees of Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve participated in Fifth Regional Readings “Past Fate of Mother Earth”

The goals of the event were patriotic education, promotion of respect to history, traditions and culture of the native region, exchange of experience between local historians. Amateur regional ethnographers, teachers and museum employees usually take part in the conference.

The presented reports were about the history of the Vashki district and famous people who left a mark in the history of the region. Employees of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve introduced two reports. L.I. Glysina told about several sources about the history of the saw-mills in the Pokrov volost of the Kirillov district. A.N. Kalikina reported about I.M. Uverov, one of the most outstanding fellow-townsmen, participant of the Russian Civil War and the Great Patriotic War.

It is planned to publish a collected book containing all reports of the conference according to the results of the readings.
