Night at Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve

About half a thousand people visited the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve within the framework of the International Action “Night at the Museum”!

“Night at the Museum” united all people who were interested in art and culture. As the international action has shown, there are many of them in Kirillov. Connoisseurs of beauty joined in the tours of the Open Storage of Ceramics and the permanent exhibition “Antiquities of Belozersk District” housed on the lowest floor of the Refectory. About 50 people saw a bird’s eye view of the monastery during the action. They learnt about the history of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery on the viewing platform of the Bell-tower.

Guests from St. Petersburg, Moscow and Cheboksary attended the presentation of the model of the Shipka Memorial Church made of gold and silver. Its author - Sergey Kaznacheev - presented his masterpiece personally.

The play of the Vologda Drama Chamber Theatre “Against Pushkin Again” attracted a capacity crowd. Some people in the conference hall even had to stand to greet the actor who played several parts in this performance. Yevgeny Dumnov skillfully projected himself into several characters telling the stories of Mikhail Bulgakov, Mikhail Zoshchenko, Konstantin Paustovsky and Arkady Bukhov connected with the creative work of A.S. Pushkin. “We say only good things about this writer. He is our everything. But this play contains several short stories about people who suffered meeting with Pushkin’s creative work”, explained Jacob Rubin, director of the play.

“Night at the Museum” pleased visitors not only with exhibitions, presentations and tours. A concert of the musicians from Cherepovets became a real present for them. The trio “Divertissement” consisting of Yulia Panfilova (violin), Yulia Pantina (viola) and Elena Melnikova (violoncello) performed in the Refectory.

A fire show of the fist-fighting group “Busa” took place in the New Town of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve. Bright flashes lit up the sky over the monastery concluding the festive events in which over 500 people participated.
