“Night at Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve”

The morning program “Children’s Time” started “Night at Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve”. Artists of the Cherepovets Philharmonic Society Anna Pyatnova, Anton Plyuyko, Tatiana Durnova and Elena Kuzmina presented the multconcert “Musical pictures” and the musical film for children “I Want to Reach the Cloud”.

The meeting with Natalya Serova, famous journalist of Vologda, scholar in culture studies, Honoured Cultural Worker of the RF, took place in the afternoon. She told guests a very interesting story of her personal acquaintance with many great cultural figures of Russia and the world, introduced her project “My Vologda’s Penates” that was made in Vologda in the early 1990s. It has been implemented in the museum under the title “Foreign Evenings in Kirillov” for two years.

Master-classes and interactive programs were organized in the Cook-House. Children of preschool institutions participated in them. People’s Artist of Russia Marina Vasilieva told them about some pottery techniques.

The evening program began with “Tales of Belozersk” – the evening of Russian costume and folk music. Elena Vyazigina (vocal) and Gennady Golubev (button accordion) and the theater of fashion “Renaissance” (Cherepovets) took part in it.

The pupils of this theatre presented collections of youth clothing based on the folk and historical subject. One of them was about the events connected with flooding of Mologa lands during construction of the Rybinsk Reservoir. It is worth noting that the theatre returned from Moscow not long ago where it successfully performed at the All-Russian Contest of Children’s Fashion Theaters and Costume Studios “Golden Needle” organized by Vyacheslav Zaitsev.

The concert of the famous ensemble from Cherepovets “Folk Vocal Studio” headed by Olga Moshkina opened the night program of events. Spectators had a chance to listen to the songs of Russian films. The musicians sang different compositions without any sound records only to piano accompaniment that impressed the guests very much, “This live music satisfies the ear, touches your heart and soul”.

Cinema was the central subject of “Night at the Museum”.

Tatiana Kanunova, famous film expert from Vologda, took up the baton at the end of the concert. She arranged the program “Kirillov – Film Capital of Vologda Region” as a quiz.  

Spectators of the evening program saw unique fragments of the films shot in the Kirillov district, such as: “Property of the Republic”, “Sinful Love”, “Apostle”, “Pelagia and the White Bulldog”, “Novel with Cocaine”, and others. Besides, the newsreel of the shooting of the film “Property of the Republic” was first presented to them.

The museum action was concluded with “Multnight” within the framework of which people could see animated cartoon films based on the scripts of Yuri Koval.

The fortifications, the Bell-Tower, the Assumption Cathedral and the Refectory were open for visitors till midnight. Museum guests went to see the northern parvis of the Assumption Cathedral with the unique frescoes of the 17th century, the Church of St. Vladimir and the Kazan Tower that were first open after restoration; the Church of St. John Climacus over the Holy Gate and the renovated exhibition “Monk’s Cell”.
