New interactive grounds will be open during Festival of Historical Reenactment “Kirillo-Belozersky Siege”

From May 28 to 29, 2016

The artillery interactive ground is a fenced area with special properties and equipment. It is full-size reconstruction of the gun of the early 17th century, a set of necessary devices for loading, unloading and firing (linstock, sponge staff, rammer, powder flask, etc.) and some models of ammunition supplies – powder bags, wads, balls.

Under the direction of an instructor dressed in the reconstructed clothing of the Russian artilleryman of the 17th century, a group of guests (spectators) consisting of 6 people will get devices and models of ammunition supplies and will be trained to load and to fire. Then the instructor will demonstrate all parts of the filling inside the artillery tube.

A fake cannon with a dismountable barrel will be used on the interactive ground.

No pyrotechnic devices will be applied there!

On the children’s fencing ground, participants of the event will be able to learn to apply the main weapon of Moscow’s soldiers (Streltsy) – a pole-axe and a sword.

Those who want to learn to use the pole-axe will study marching drills and the main defensive and offensive movements. As a result, the participants will have to do four marching drills in unison at the command “Derzai (Go for it)”.

During the sword training, guests will be told about the correct fencer’s stance and the main defensive and offensive movements. Everything will be done in loose formation and without contact. As a result, they will have to cope with the complex of offensive and defensive moments at a signal of the foreman. The most active and skilful participants will be able to take part in training fights with the use of soft models of edged weapons and protective sports helmets with a visor.

Admission to the new interactive grounds is free!
