M.N. Sharomazov graduated from Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin in 1990 with a degree in theory and history of art. The total length of his service is 42 years.

In 1986, he worked in the State Art Museum of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (Kishinev). On September 1, 1987, he began to work in the Kirillo-Belozersky Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve as a research officer of the Old Russian Painting Department. Since 1989, he worked in the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes - the branch of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve: he was a deputy director of scientific work there from 1993 to 1995 and a head of the Permanent and Temporary Exhibition Department since 1996.

On October 1, 2009, he was appointed director of the Kirillo-Belozersky Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve.

M.N. Sharomazov has carried out large exhibition and research work and publishing activities. He has written over 100 papers and has made a large contribution to the development of museum affairs.

Being the head of the department, the deputy director of the branch and the museum director, M.N. Sharomazov showed himself a talented organizer and a leader. The museum staff has implemented a number of interesting and popular exhibition and educational projects under his direction. At present the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve is one of the most famous tourist sites in the Vologda region.

M.N. Sharomazov was awarded the Diplomas of the Ministry of Culture of the RF and the Vologda Region Governor. In 2008, he was given the State Prize of the Vologda region for preservation, study and popularization of the historical and cultural heritage in 2007. In 2016, he was awarded the Commemorative Medal of the Year of Literature “For Particular Contribution to Book Industry”.
