06 December 2017

В масштабнейшем музейном фестивале принимает участие Кирилло-Белозерский музей-заповедник.

From May 25 to 29, 2017

The international festival that the museum public had waited for the whole year was opened in Moscow on May 25. 300 best museums of the country are being presented on one ground in the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall. Besides, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Germany, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Abkhazia, the Luhansk People’s Republic, the Donetsk People’s Republic, China are taking part in the event.

Vladimir Medinsky, Minister of Culture of Russia, opened “Intermuseum 2017”, “This annual festival of museums has become a landmark of the cultural life of Moscow. It is so pleasant that both organizers and participants of the event are concerned about prospects of the branch, but this year’s keynote of the project is the Museum of the Future. The leading Russian and foreign museums gathered in one ground are introducing their latest achievements and best practices in the sphere of object display, innovations and research.

Numerous business meetings, creative performances and master-classes that will be held within the framework of “Intermuseum 2017” are also very interesting. I am sure that all of them will promote establishment of new contacts and effective cooperation with partners. Such a diversified format of the event will become a useful aid for development of museum affairs in our country and establishment of professional ties between Russian and foreign museums.

I sincerely wish you successful and fruitful work, striking discoveries and implementation of the most ambitious plans!”

Exchange of experience is probably one of the main aspects of “Intermuseum”. Delegates of 25 countries have come to Moscow this year. It is massively more than in the previous years. Everybody will have a chance to learn something new especially taking into account that the area adjacent to the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall has been turned into a festival and museum cluster. Lectures, conferences, multimedia events and concerts will take place there.

300 museums are presenting their work at the international festival. They have been selected among more than 1500 applicants. The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve has got such an opportunity thanks to participation in two nominations of the “Intermuseum 2017” competition program: “Best Project in IT-Sphere” and “Best Project Aimed at Social Interaction”. Special mention has been made of the Internet website and the information and exhibition centre “Saint Kirill Belozersky” and the project “Clay Therapy as a New Way of Rehabilitation of Disabled People”.

Now museum employees Marina Vasilieva, Alexey Smirnov and Vera Mishintseva are working in the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall to present the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, to communicate with visitors and to answer their questions.

The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve prepared for this large festival during a long time. Implementing the idea of Lyudmila Lupushor, deputy director of development and exhibition work, and Alexey Smirnov, head of the Department of Information Technologies, designer Sergey Pesterev made an information board to present the museum in all its glory. Besides, Maxim Yesakov, head of the Exhibition Making Sector in the Permanent and Temporary Exhibition Department, made a model of the icon-case of 1614 with a copy of the icon of St. Kirill painted by Dionisy Glushitsky. The model of the Dormition Cathedral of the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery made by S.B. Kulikov, chief architect of the Federal State Budgetary Unitary Enterprise “Central Scientific and Restoration Design Workshops”, was of particular interest at “Intermuseum 2017”.

The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve introduced not only some exhibits, but also an interactive program. Over 50 people have already joined in the master-class in pottery delivered by People’s Artist of Russia Marina Vasilieva.

It is notable that a lot of guests of the festival come to the exhibition board of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve not only to learn how they can get there and what they can see, but just to share their impressions of the visit of this wonderful place. Somebody went to see it 8, 15, 25 years ago and they are still enchanted with our region.

344 organizations from different regions of the Russian Federation and over 10 countries of the CIS and the far abroad have registered for participation in the “Intermuseum 2017” programs. The list of the Russian institutions includes 65 federal, 162 subject, 52 municipal and 55 private museums. Our visitors have a choice. They can learn about most museums of the country during several days.

“Intermuseum 2017” will be open till May 29. We will hope that its participants will make the right choice and the tourist flow to the Vologda region will increase thanks to visits to the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve.
