Several important events took place in the conference hall of the museum on this festival day.

Tatiana Durnova, artist of the Cherepovets Philharmonic Society, presented one of the poetry and music programs from the series “20th Century. Hit Songs and Cult Figures”. The composition was about life, fate and career of the great singer Klavdiya Shulzhenko. K.I. Shulzhenko was a smart, charming and ironic woman and a singer performing on the stage for more than 50 years. And the audience loved her within all these years – from the 1920s to the 1970s.

Tatiana Durnova was accompanied by the orchestra. She sang well-known songs and retro hits from the repertoire of Klavdiya Shulzhenko: “Bricks”, “Little Wrinkles, “Don’t Talk about Love”, “A Note”, “A Song about Husbands”, “Heh, Andryusha!”, “Meetings”, “Tell Me About Love”, “Let’s Smoke”, “The Last Fight”, “The Blue Headscarf”, “Companions in Arms”, “Take a Guitar”, “What is Love”, and others.

The guests learnt a lot of unique facts from the life of Klavdiya Shulzhenko.

Here is one of them: at the beginning of the war, by the artist’s request, the command of the Leningrad Front enrolled her and her ensemble to the field army and the artists and musicians bore the burden of war and the first winter of the siege together with the front-line soldiers from Leningrad. In July 1942, Klavdiya Shulzhenko gave the 500th concert after the beginning of the siege.

Artistry and workmanship of the team of musicians of the Cherepovets Philharmonic Society, team play and harmonious emotional execution of all compositions won the hearts of the audience. And Tatiana Durnova’s wonderful velvet voice charmed all guests who gathered in the conference hall!

At the end of the program, they gave a standing ovation to the artists: Denis Karabalin (piano), Anna Pyatnova (accordion), Anton Plyuyko (saxophone), Tatiana Durnova (vocal), and Elena Kuzmina (scriptwriter, director and presenter of the program).
