23 October 2017

The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve is among participants of “Intermuseum 2017”!

The 19th International Festival “Intermuseum” will begin in Moscow on May 25. The event that was first held in 1999 was initiated by Yuri Pishchulin, chief editor of the magazine “Mir Muzeya”, and Tatiana Kibalchich, director general of the Centre of Cultural Programs, Information, Cultural and Tourist Projects “Moscow-Media-Tour”. The project was almost immediately supported by the Ministry of Culture of the RF. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Prime Minister of the RF Olga Golodets and other political, public and cultural figures attended it in different years.

“Intermuseum” is an annual festival that unites not dozens, but hundreds of museums of Russia, the near and far abroad countries on one ground. It is the place where museum employees share their experience, tell about their achievements and learn something new. The subject of this year’s event is the Museum of the Future.

On April 13, the festival jury determined participants of the “Intermuseum 2017” competition program. 151 contestants reached the second round, including the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve.

Winners of this stage get a chance to introduce their organizations at the festival exhibition in the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall and to receive a prize in one of four nominations. Employees of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve presented their works in two nominations: “Best Project in IT-Sphere” (the Internet website and the information and exhibition centre “Saint Kirill Belozersky”) and “Best Project Aimed at Social Interaction” (“Clay Therapy as a New Way of Rehabilitation of Disabled People”).

According to the results of the second round of the contest, the jury will name finalists of each nomination (till May 15) who will have to defend their projects at the last meeting of the commission on May 27.

“Intermuseum” includes hundreds of events of professional subject organized by the Ministry of Culture of the RF, the Russian Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM of Russia), the Union of Museums of Russia, and the Vladimir Potanin Foundation. Volunteer and educational projects, issues of staff policy, interactive and multimedia technologies are discussed there. The museums participating in the festival present the most successful and innovative projects implemented within the last years. Foreign experts share their experience. Over 35 thousand people visited the festival last year.
