Employees of Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve took part in Local History Conference “World through Culture”

Participants of the conference presented 15 research works in the following directions: “Living past” (regional studies through history), “Chronicle of native places” (regional studies through history), “In the shadow of centuries” (regional studies through literature and toponymy), “Fate of Russia in the fates of fellow-townsmen” (archaeography), “Popular wisdom” (folklore and ethnography), “Peace to everything that is alive” (biology, bioecology, hydrobiology), “Earth and people” (geography, human ecology and ecology of settlements).

E.N. Ikvils, specialist in registration and storage documentation of the Scientific and Storage Department, and L.V. Terebova, head of the Scientific Department in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, were members of the jury in the first section. They estimated pupils’ works on regional studies through history.

Schoolchildren presented 7 researches in this section:

Direction “Living past”

1. “Ascetic Activities of Rural Deans”

Irina Vladimirovna Orlova, tenth-form girl of the Kirillov Secondary School.

2. “Strong in Spirit. History of the Church of SS. Peter and Paul Located in Sitskoye in the Fate of Its Churchmen”

Vladimir Olegovich Minin, ninth-form boy of the Nikolotorzhskaya Secondary School.

3. “He Defended His Native Land. Y.N. Preobrazhensky”

Alexandra Sergeevna Kirova, seventh-form girl of the Nikolotorzhskaya Secondary School.

4. “Excerpts on the History of the Merchant’s House of the Alyoshichevs in Lukinskaya Village”

Arina Alexandrovna Antonova, seventh-form girl of the Charozerskaya Secondary School.

Direction “Chronicle of native places”

1. “Despite Many Difficulties”

Yevgenia Igorevna Arsentieva, ninth-form girl of the Ferapontovo Secondary School;

2. “Excerpts on the History of the Goritsy Kindergarten”

Valentina Alexandrovna Ryabova, fifth-form girl of the Goritsy Secondary School;

3. “Defence Work in Goritsy Village”

Vasily Vladimirovich Dokichev, fifth-form boy of the Goritsy Secondary School.

The jury recommended Irina Orlova (the tenth-form girl of the Kirillov Secondary School) to participate in the Kirillov’s Readings and the Interregional Local History Olympiad “World through Culture” according to the results of the work in this section.
