A.A. Borodulina, custodian of the holdings in the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, has recently received the Kaunas Literary Miscellany 2017 in which her article “In Search of the Author” was published. It was about the picture “Death of the Rival” painted by the artist of Kirillov. The publication was initiated by Yuri Vladimirovich Malkov, great-nephew of the painter Dmitry Vasilievich Malkov (1860-1885). He lives in Kaunas, Lithuania. Upon graduating from the Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, Y.V. Malkov held senior positions in the Kaunas Machine-Building Association for more than 30 years. In 1975, he was awarded the State Prize of the USSR for participation in the elaboration of the line of metalworking machines. His name was included into the Encyclopedia of Soviet Lithuania. Y.V. Malkov is interested in literature and oil painting. The house of the Malkovs has come down to us in Kirillov. Yuri Malkov came to Kirillov – the native town of his father, and visited the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve several times. The book of his recollections and short stories “Life in Two Centuries” given by the author is kept in the museum holdings. The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve expresses deep gratitude to Y.V.
